Abstract

Archaeological research carries out in the Menarandra river basin, especially in the high valley of the Menakompy, has resulted in the recovery of dry stone masonry sites also called manda related to livestock. The surveyed region is an adjacent zone between the bara Highlands towards the north, and the Androy towards the south. These sites are interesting for different reasons as different approaches were used in the reconstitution of human ' s relations with its physical environment and with its socio-economic relations through what we could call the "civilization of livestock"
