Fouilles Archeologiques de Sauvetage Sur Le Site de la Masquee de Kankou Moussa a Gao (Mail): Resultats Dela Compagne 2006
Abstract
The excavations, undertaken on the site of the Kanku Musa ' s mosque, have brought to light a series of colossal walls built using a highly elaborate dry stone architecture. These walls appears to be the vestiges of a royal residence. The 2006 excavation provided additional information about architecture and cultural material. According to the materials analysis the relative chronology of occupation of the site is estimated between the 2nd and 16th Centuries AD.
