Kiswahili is a multi-disciplinary Journal advancing Swahili language, linguistics and literature. It is the peer-reviewed journal of the Institute of Kiswahili Studies, University of Dar es Salaam. Its main aim is to gather and disseminate under a single cover a wide variety of research and discussions concerning Kiswahili language, linguistics and literature.
Launched in 1930, the Journal aims to stimulate innovative thinking and promote a multidisciplinary debate on concepts, analysis, policy and practice for the advancement of Kiswahili language, linguistics and literature. The Journal cuts across economic, social, political, educational issues that involve uses of Kiswahili.
The Journal welcomes manuscripts related to the Swahili language, linguistics and literature, language policy, and book and article reviews.
