Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • A cover letter that mentions the names of all co-authors and summarizes the originality and significance of the research (Appendix 2). The letter should, in addition, clearly and explicitly state the submission status of the manuscript in other journals. EAJoCS would like to know whether the manuscript has been submitted elsewhere or is under consideration for publication by any other journal.
  • Manuscript in Microsoft Word/PDF (portable document format) format for review. The manuscript should follow the journal style. To facilitate the review process, EAJoCS recommends continuous line numbering on the left and right margins of the manuscript. Furthermore, noting the double-blind review model of the journal, all author-identifying information (names, correspondences, affiliations, funding sources, and acknowledgements) should be removed from the manuscript. These pieces of information should be completed in the submission system and will be transferred to the accepted manuscript.
  • The manuscript should be carefully and thoroughly proofread to correct language issues, such as those originating from grammar, sentence construction, and punctuation. Manuscripts with obvious language problems (e.g., typos and spelling errors) will be immediately rejected.
  • Complete information of all co-authors, including their ORCID (open researcher and contributor ID) and emails, should be filled in the submission system. Information about the corresponding author, in particular, should be identified and filled in the respective fields of the system.
  • References should be complete and formatted according to the journal style. Intentional omission of references, or inclusion of unrelated references, will be treated as serious academic misconduct that may lead to outright rejection of the manuscript.
  • Supplementary information (e.g., video, high-quality images, or extended row data, among others), if any. This information should not exceed 100MB.
  • Manuscript keywords (minimum, 4; maximum, 5).
  • Declaration of conflict of interest.
  • Ethical clearance or approval certificate for conducting research, if applicable.
  • The manuscript should not have been submitted to another journal at the same time. Duplicate submissions may cause immediate rejection of the manuscript, and the submitting authors may be barred from subsequent submissions of their future works to EAJoCS.
  • Figures and Tables should have high quality and should be captioned correctly and referenced accurately in the main text.
  • The length of the manuscript should be between 6000 to 9000 words.
  • If the manuscript was previously rejected by EAJoCS or another journal after peer review, but with encouragement to resubmit, then authors should include a separate detailed document that describes tracked updates of the manuscript: reviewers’ comments and recommendations, authors’ response to reviewers’ concerns, decision letter from the editor-in-chief or associate editor, and revised manuscript with changes made highlighted.
